Srushti began to prepare herself for the UPSC exam in her third year as a student in engineering. She was unsure if engineering is the right career for her. In the end, she realized that civil services was her passion and focused on the field. Parents encouraged her to become an official in the civil service and to pursue an employment in the public sector. Her motivation was constant and she determined to become the IAS officer. To be able to pass UPSC to be a reality the hard work of a lifetime is necessary. While studying her engineering subjects, she also used to prepare for different subjects at UPSC. Each day she would set aside time to work on her preparation for the test. She studied for the engineering examinations in only one-and-ahalf months. She stayed out of social situations. She believes that focusing on the task at hand is essential to pass the exam. She set out to make it through the exam quickly, so she was able to put in a lot of work. In order to stay up-to-date on the latest news her routine was to browse through the papers. In addition, she had plenty of help online, by accumulating studying materials as well as watching Rajya Sabha TV.
