Mary Eileen McDonnell (born April 28th 1952) is a famous American stage actor and TV actress. McDonnell has been awarded the Academy Award nod for the role she performed on Dances with Wolves, as Stands With A Fist. Apart from this character McDonnell is known as Laura Roslin (President of Battlestar Galactica) and the wife of the president in Independence Day as well as her main role in the film as Donnie Darko's mother.
